It's only my opinion...

I have to apologize to anyone I may offend but I have been a bit frustrated with the goings on in the news! First of all this big to do about the Professor who was arrested and said it was racial profiling. The police were called by a neighbor saying someone was breaking into a house. The Professor should thank the neighbor for being so attentive to what was going on in the neighborhood, and also he should get to know his neighbors so they know that it is his house. If people got to know their neighbors better and helped each other, these kinds of problems wouldn't happen. Did anyone see the other cops in the photo. One was white and another was BLACK. So if the white cop was wrong wouldn't the black cop have spoken up? I'm even shocked that the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES got involved. Is it only because he is black? I try to be fair and unbiased especially in racial dealings but this one was "STUPID".
I was all for other races being included in the Miss America Pageant. So why is there a Latino pageant and a African American pageant and nobody complains about how that's not fair. What about the couple from Chicago who say the blacks should go out of their way to shop at black owned businesses so that black kids can see that they can get out of the slums and succeed in business. First, I want to know what kind of neighborhood do they live in, and if they want the youth living in the slums to have a better life then why not have your family live in the middle of the slums and teach the people to take pride in their community by taking care of the homes and yards or apartments and areas around them. Why not teach the parents to live a better way and set better examples to their kids. Why not help the parents get a better education so they can have a better life. Stop blaming race when it's easy for you to use. I hate bigotry but I also hate lame excuses. Look at all the ethnic people out there who have bettered themselves with their own hard work. God doesn't love certain colors and neither should we. And He also wants us to be the best people we can be by working on it ourselves, not by free hand up's. Having a beer with Obama. Please! Yeah that helps. Alcohol solves everything.
And while I'm complaining, I've had it with the gay issues. Especially the gay guys that got busted on Temple Square in Salt Lake City. They were on Church owned property and were asked to leave, and resisted the security guards. Then they think a kiss-in is going to prove anything. How ridiculous! The gays also want the Mormon church to change their stand on gay issues that go back to the Bible and the churches foundation on this issue. The day the Mormon Church changes it's standards is the day God wipes out the earth!! Get over yourself. But it's only my opinion!

Whatever!

I am always so behind the times. I saw, somewhere, a craft blog wanting to see peoples craft rooms. I was interested to see if I was the only messy crafter or not. My theory is all crafters have a messy craft room because they are always creating. Then I start looking around at others who have posted and I guess I am the only slob or they are LYING. So here is my reality and my mess. I'm in the middle of making my flower hair clips. So to those with clean craft rooms I say WHATEVER!

If your heart needs to be comforted

I was soaring thru the web again today and came across a blog that has so touched me and inspired me. It is a blog I am going thru backwards because that is what has grabbed me. This woman and her dear husband survived a plane crash alltho the pilot sadly didn't. Her sister became a substitute in the blog while during recovery and then NieNie was able to do some blogging on her own. What inspiration I feel as I read of her frustrations but mostly of the deep love she has for her husband and he for her. We all want happy marriages and she shows me how to do it. They have put God first in their marriage and then each other. I see her husband only in the sweet positive ways he should be shown as should we only see our spouses. As God sees us. I have learned to see only the precious and sweet loving things of our children, family and friends. As God sees us. They say We go thru trials to make US stronger and to learn from, but Stephanie has taught Me how I should be and live and see those around me in the love God wants us to see and learn from. I do see her trials and feel part of her pain, and we all go down that road, but she immediatly looks back up to her Father in Heaven, asks and DEPENDS on His help and she shows us the beauty and love again. Thanks Nienie for sharing your life with us all. My love and prayers will now be with you and in my heart. Kiss your sweet ones for their new "aunt" and I hope you can feel my arms around you thanking you for touching a tired heart.
Check out her blog and feel blessed to "know" her. http://nieniedialogues.blogspot.com

Looky what I made!

I have seen these beautiful fabric flowers on etsy and was dying to find out how they did it. So, after tons of research on-line, I kind of had some ideas. I did find a couple of tutorials but I forgot to write down where so I could give them credit for it, sorry. But anyway, after scouring the local thrift stores and Joanns fabrics for remnants I started. I found a great lace blouse and decided to slightly paint some of it a soft blue. It turned out so pretty even tho you can't tell by the picture. I just watered down some acrylic paint. I think the color was Delta's Lilac Blue.Anyway, I cut out the fabric into flower shapes and carefully burned the edges. Burning can forgive a lot of mistakes. Then I layered different textured petals and stitched them together. I was so thrilled with them but they needed something, so back to Joanns and found some beautiful buttons for the centers. What a difference. My craft area is in such a mess I don't know how I'll ever clean it up but here are the results. The largest flower is so massive but one of my fav's.Now to just put them on etsy to hopefully sell. Check me out and please buy some so I can feed my addiction of making more. I'm putting on a pin and a hair clip so it can be used either way. Tell me what you think.
American Idol!
So, When Are the top 8 kids going to get record deals so I can buy their albums? I know they are on tour, they're set to preform here in Utah, but have they even been offered record deals?
Addyson!
My little grandaughter Addy has learned how to walk and now she's trying to run. Her parents better get in shape 'cus she'll keep THEM running. She is so funny just with a few of us around, but give her a bigger audiance at Great Grandma's house and watch her show off. It's very entertaining. She's such a doll too. I have this picture of her wearing my reading glasses and she had to turn to show everyone. I'm going to do a collage of it saying " Do these glasses make my butt look big?"
Thanks for tuning in and have a great day.
