My Fall Wreath

Life has gotten out of control for me. I had a craft show for two weekends, plus helping hubby set up for the spook alley he always does at the school he teaches at. Here is a wreath I made but didn't get much notice at the shows so I put it on my door!!! Love how burlap sucks up the dye you dunk it in. Hopefully i will be able to photo my jewelry and get it posted in my etsy! Have a great rest of the week!!!

We forgot our camera so these are from my daughters phone. Marci has such a cute yard and so many fun things to look at.I did a lot better than i thought I would too. The weather held for us and only sprinkled a few drops. I am so going again next year too. Thanx for a great time Marci!

Friday after getting to tend my little Squidgie, My daughter and I stopped at a local "Yard Sale" here in Payson Utah. I've been to it for a couple of years and it keeps getting better all the time. Awhile back a lady liked one of my necklaces on my Etsy shop ( http://www.etsy.com/listing/74350376/diet-coke-pendant-necklace ). She signed her name as Flea-ology and I knew who she was by that name from her banner for her shows. I told her who I was and that we were almost neighbors. Friday I went ot introduce myself to her but she was gone on an errand. I did buy quite a few wonderful treasures and went home and commented on her page what a great show it was. She was also having a giveaway if you followed her on Facebook. I got to pick out a sheriffs badge and I was entered in the grand prize drawing for a crown. Well, I WON THE CROWN!!!! I was SO excited and scurried right down there Saturday morning, and told Paula who I was, gave her a Diet Coke necklace I had made and we got pictures taken. I fell so in love with all the ladies in charge of this great sale and felt i finally found people I can relate to. Follow her on Facebook, under flea.o.logy and find out when her shows are. They are so worth it!!!! I ended up buying more stuff!!!

Where did everyones Manners Go?

Have you noticed how many people have forgotten or don't use any manners? It is making me crazy! No PLEASE, THANK YOU, EXCUSE ME... etc. Standing in an isle at a store, looking at a product, a person steps in front of you or stands in front of you and doesn't even acknowledge you let alone says excuse me. Kids have no respect for people or their property, toilet habits send me over the edge screaming, and driving has gotten more rude and ME ME ME only. We lived in Okinawa Japan for a year and I LOVED how they taught their children manners, respect and honor from the time the child is tiny. Parks were kept pristine, everyone cheered for each other, Eating habits were very proper, drivers let you into traffic and you responded back with a quick honk and tipping your head to say thank you. We never worried about things being stolen or anyone hurting us when we were among the Japanese, but on the American military bases we did. The children were the custodians at the schools and were also in charge of taking care of the younger students and teaching them how to get along. If we could afford it, we would definitely move back and retire there. But it would be great if America started teaching their kids these things. Now I will step off my soap box!

I do love my lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Today in church, we had a speaker talk of his son. He told of how the son had been badly burned, accidentally, and how they had to care for him, scrubbing away the dead flesh and the pain this boy was in. How his son pleaded with him to let him die so he would be pain free. The father said how he admired his son's strength in dealing with this pain, and how those who knew this boy grew so much from the acts of charity and their prayers for this boy and his family. Then he told of a neighbor who rarely went to church, how he didn't think he needed to rely on the Lord. His son was accidentally shot the other day and this boy's father knew he needed to step up and be the leader of this family. In a special prayer for this boy, the man was asked to say this prayer, and it was revealed to this man, that this boy chose, in the pre-mortal existence, to let this accident happen, to help those around him grow and be blessed by the Lord. I immediately thought of Nie-Nie, or Stephanie Nielson, and her accident in a plane crash. (Her button is to the right of this blog) She, and her husband are still going thru pain and recovery from the crash, and this has really affected her family, friends and now so many more people. But she is always showing us her trials but also how the Lord is helping her thru this and she is showing us how to look up and look for the good. It IS by our faith that the Lord blesses us but we have to always be asking for His help. I am so grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for His great love for us and all that we learn from Him. Open your hearts, pray specifically and wait for His love to be poured out on you. My love and prayers to anyone who does still read my blog.

Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month. The day after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could so she dictated these words:

Dear God,
Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with you in heaven. I miss her very much. I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick.

I hope you will play with her. She likes to play with balls and to swim. I am sending a picture of her so when you see her You will know that she is my dog. I really miss her.

Love, Meredith
We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it. Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven. That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office.

A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had.

Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed, ‘To Meredith’ in an unfamiliar hand. Meredith opened it. Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, ‘When a Pet Dies.’

Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope. On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey & Meredith and this note:

Dear Meredith,

Abbey arrived safely in heaven. Having the picture was a big help. I recognized Abbey right away.

Abbey isn’t sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog.

Since we don’t need our bodies in heaven, I don’t have any pockets to keep your picture in, so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by.

Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you.

I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much. By the way, I’m easy to find, I am wherever there is love.

I have been busy making some Easter Baskets to sell. What do you think? I made them from Pete Pots from Wal-mart! I painted them, punched a hole for handles, modge podged pictures I got from The Graphics Fairy, ( Thank you!!!!) Then glittered the pic with white embossing powder. I went to the dollar store for stuff to fill it with. I even got a bunny candle and glittered it. SO FUN. If you are interested in one for $15.00 plus $5.00 shipping. I even made a plain one.

My husband and I went to Provo (Utah) to see a friend preform at a shopping mall, but we were early so we went inside Boarders book store to kill some time. When we were checking out I caught a side glimpse of Nienie (Stephanie Nielson) so I HAD to go over and thank her for helping me to see life in a better way, staying positive in times of trials. She was so sweet and gave me a hug and we chatted just a little. She was with her handsome sweetheart and thier two darling girls. I feel so blessed evey time I read her blog.

She wrote how ugly she feels now that her face is scarred but I KNOW beauty IS in the eye of the beholder and she is still so beautiful. Her eyes are so incredible and the love we feel from her, for her family shows her beauty within. Her oldest daughter and oldest boy look just like her, the second daughter looks like her daddy, and the youngest is a combo and they are all so adorable. Yes I have a crush on the Nielson's. I have never really had a lot of friends to hang out with or who share the same likes as I do and it can get a little lonely wanting to go antiquing with someone or craft with someone and feel that love with. Black History Month

I recently heard a white girl say "Why don't we have White History Month", and was sad to hear her attitude. I am white, I grew up with a lot of my family being predjudice against blacks. When I was little I remember asking Santa for a black baby doll, and getting her. I was SO in love with her, but very upset and defensive when my Aunt teased me about having a "n------ baby". I indignantly told her she was black and beautiful. I still have that doll and am still drawn to these beautifully dark dolls and beautiful dark people. I may be politically incorrect and I'm sorry. I lived in Okinawa Japan and was at a flea market on a US military base. Amother and her two little girls were at my booth and I overheard one of the little girls tell her mom how she was being picked on and told she was ugly and stupid because she was black. I went over to that little girl and told her to ALWAYS be proud of her color and herself and never to be mean like that little girl was. I also told her "BACK IS BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!". I am ashamed of my ancestors being a slave holder and especially how mean she was to the slaves, and tho I can never change the past, I am trying to change the future with what I teach my children. They are adults now and so far so good. So I am thrilled to see how far we have come and I know we still have more to learn and change. My Family

My youngest son,is my funniest kid. He comes up with the darndest things and cracks everyone up, especially me.He's the one in the first 5 pictures. He just turned 23, is married to a FABULOUS girl. As you can see he makes her laugh too. They were getting thier engagement pics done and our friend the photographer kept having to get after him to be more serious. This past Halloween he decided to dress up as one of his co-workers and did a great job at it. What was scary was he looked a lot like my brother. Even his buddies are silly and I LOVE it, as you can see in the wedding photo. It was all impromptu and they all knew what the other was up to. My middle son is married and he just turned 25. He has a 2 year old little girl who makes us laugh even more. The picture of her in her skunk costume was taken by her mom(who is also FABULOUS and VERY witty). She says Little Miss won't clean her room unless she's wearing this outfit. She's very much a Papa's girl and so smart. Then there is our beautiful daughter who is 27 and my best friend. She is amazing on the computer and amazing with Geneology. She served a mission for our church at the Family History Library where she found a LOT of my family members. She can also do yours for $5.00 an hour. Just let me know! I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for such a great family and also a wondrful and handsome husband.

I'm still here! We have had problems with our computer and then our daughter got a laptop. So now I'm trying to figure out how to use it. I've been crafting somewhat, I made 2 wreaths with silver balls and silver snowflakes topped with a silver bow all from the dollar store. Then I did one with red, gold, and green. I'll get pics posted soon. Don't leave me, I vow to do better and learn to like using a laptop! Happy Turkey Day!!!

Lately I have been busy getting ready for a craft show. That was last weekend and am I ever tired. I shared a booth with some fabulous Mary Kaye ladies and LOVE them. I made a bunch of bags from dogfood bags thanx to some inspiration from Tinker Verve, some domino necklaces and did my nail painting. I did the best at that, but I did manage to sell one bag and a few domino necklaces. I mostly wanted to get my name out there for the nail painting. Now I need to make more crafts and practice new patterns for the nails. Gotta love this life!

My phone holder

I decided I was tired of sticking my cell phone in my bra strap and end up with it sliding down and giving me a rectangled shaped breast. What to do? I created these little pocket holders and embelished them with some flowers I had kicking around. I just measured my phone leaving a little extra to sew the seams. Then after turning it right side out, I cut a piece of muslin, folded it over and hot glued it together, then glued it to the back of the pocket and glued a pin onto it. Then on the front I hot glued my flower. I LOVE it and it I can hear it when it rings!

I've been a bit busy

Today we had a family reunion on my hubby's side of the family and our 2nd son and I got to do face painting. Were we ever busy! Luckily we were in the shade, it's been so stinkin' HOT! I got really talented at painting pink skulls with blue bows, here's a pic of mine but the paints wearing off. Our theme was Pirates! We also have a Chinese Auction so I donated some domino necklaces and some little bird necklace pendants. Unfortunately I didn't win anything. Oh well. It was a success!

I forgot to post back around the 4th of July the flower I wore that day. It was SO CUTE!!!

My Husbands Fathers Day Gift

We are super short on money right now and I wanted to do something fun for my sweet hubby so I came up with this. I drew PAPA about the size and thickness I wanted, cut it out on my scroll saw, sanded it, then painted it a chocolate brown color. I printed off some photo's of our granddaughter Addy and decoupaged the pics on it. I had to spray a clear varnish on it so the ink wouldn't bleed and then cut out the pics. I had to hold the photo's up to the light to know where to place it so as not to cut off faces. It was also hard to hide it when he came into my craft room twice to see what I was working on. Luckily I have a few projects going so I could say I was working on them., which I was while the pics or wood was drying. Our Addy calls him Papa instead of grandpa, she has 3 of them. He was very pleased with it. I also gave him a manicure and a hand massage.

Yesterday after I was able to sit and read the latest issue of the Ensign the LDS church publishes, I was so touched by Pres. Thomas S. Monson's message to LIVE GREATLY! He said, "We must develop the capacity to face trouble with courage, disappointment with cheerfulness, and triumph with humility." He told of a lady who had three yellow canaries. When she passed away she left to of the birds to a friend and the third one to him. She apologized that this yellow bird had some gray on it's wings and said "He may not be the prettiest, but his song is the best". So many times I get caught up with hating my looks or weight, and miss when I was young and cute, but this made me realize I need to be beautiful on the inside where it really matters. I read NieNie and she was talking about how her face isn't beautiful and I was so hurt for her and wanted to tell her how much she has taught me about REAL BEAUTY and that my goal is to be more like her, BEAUTIFUL ON THE INSIDE". We need to slow down our lives and really become what God wants us to be, beautiful from the inside and uplift those we come in contact with. Have a great day, slow down and enjoy the beauty around us and strive for the beauty within. Thank you Heavenly Father for all you give and do for us.

Here are a few pics of my stitchery I'm almost done with. I have had SO MUCH FUN with this and it has worked up so quickly. I drew out my idea on a piece of paper with just the scrolly vine thingy and the saying I wanted. It's a quote from an incredible speaker, Chad Hymas. He said "This life was never about you". Then everything else just came along from stuff I already had, like the bird cut from felt etc. I just kept adding things that seemed right to put in. I made a nest from some gold tinsel I had and two "eggs" from rhinestones I had. I hot glued it instead of sewing it. I have a picture I just put on fabric of Jesus washing someones feet that I'm going to sew on and then finish with little bits. I'll show you when I get it done. I have some others on paper of different themes, like The Beatles, Marilyn Monroe, etc, that I'll show you when I get them done. If you are wanting to try this and have been afraid to start, jump in and you will see how easy and fun this really is.
On my post about the lids with the pics on them, I was asked what kind of lids I was saving. I have saved the canning jar lids from our bottled fruit. In the tutorial she used juice lids. Thanx for stopping by. See ya soon.

Free Style Embroidery Started

I finally started my freestyle embroidery and am almost done with it. I LOVE IT!!!! It is so much fun and now I have a bunch of themes I want to do. Once I decided on an idea it just snowballed and it works up so fast. I have pics to show you but our computer has died and I am using a borrowed laptop. But I will get pics posted soon. My main theme was from a talk Chad Hymas gave and it has really stuck with me and made me more aware. It is " THIS LIFE WAS NEVER ABOUT YOU". If you ever get a chance to hear him speak it is SO worth it. Look him up and his story. He's AMAZING!!! I've also been making domino necklaces with the characters from Bonanza and The Monkees, for my daughter and her friends. They are quite fun. Gotta run for now. Have a great weekend. Remember to be the same person on your feet as you are on your knees.

I came across a skirt I had bought off ebay but was too narrow for me but looking at it I couldn't bring myself to just make a tote so I made it into a top to wear and with the leftover I am going to figure out a tote. My New Purses

I bought a pig feed sack made into a bag from a great lady and at the moment i can't remember who she is BUT I PROMISE TO TELL YOU WHEN I FIND HER!!!!!!! That bag inspired me to make a smaller version so I went grocery shopping and found these. I emptied them out, washed them made these.....
I forgot to photo the insides but i just made liners with pockets for the inside. I sewed everything but you could hot glue too. So many times at the grocery store the clerks tell me I've left an item in my cart and then they laugh when I show them it's my purse. So FUN!!!!

Spring Wreath

I was having a moment of frustration trying to come up with a spring wreath idea but having no money to go and buy things for it, so here's what I suddenly came up with. I had a grapevine wreath in the basement, with nothing on it and I had a bunch of flowers for your hair that I made. They have a pin on the back to pin it to your clothes or an alligator clip for wearing in your hair. I just clipped them onto the wreath with the alligator clips. TADA!!!! I think for Mothers Day I'm going to put letters of M O M with glitter on them, of course, and do a heart instead of an o and have it along on side of the flower wreath. I'll show you when I do it and get the pictures of it. I love new things. Have a great week.

Did you watch Jamie Oliver on tv last night? I must say I love him and that he cares so much about our kids' health to put himself thru so much. The lunch ladies at the school he went to said they were willing to let him come and try things his way but in all fairness, THEY WEREN'T REALLY WILLING TO BE TRUE TO THEIR WORD!!!!! It really chaps me when people say they are willing to try but then they buck things all the way. Good heck people, we DO need to change our eating habits and tell these people who make the crap food that we do ingest that we deserve better. We also need to tell ourselves we deserve better than what we are giving ourselves. I want to try all of his recipes to see if I can enjoy healthy foods and get my big behind smaller. I know I need to get my health back up, especially after all the health problems I've been having. If we as a community would say no to going to concerts and ball games where the tickets are so exspencive and put that kind of money to feeding our children better, especially in the schools, and also to paying the teachers more so the classrooms are smaller and the teachers are able to work more closely with the kids. We are a warpped society. Jump on Jamie Olivers bandwagon!!!

One of my Favorite Places...

When I'm in a creative mode but not sure what I want to make, I go to one of the three favorite fabric stores to become inspired. This one is Gracie Lou's in Salem Utah. You walk in and it's so bright and open, but the Colors of the fabrics and the Clothes on display or the Quilts! You just get so excited and I must say a little breathless and the creative juices go WILD!!!!

While there I came across these roses that come hooked together and I had an idea to add two alligator hair clips so I can attach them onto a headband. How CUTE!!! I thought they would be cute covering a clutch or purse as well. They run about $6 to $7 a yard so it would be a little expensive to cover a purse but still would be cute. Sew them along a T-Shirt collar would be fun too. What do you think?

Borrowed computer

Our computer is out being serviced again and we are crossing our fingers it will still keep going, although we know we will have to break down and get a new one. This computer is a laptop we borrowed and I'm still trying to adjust. I've been busy stitching and trying to sell my flowers but not much luck there. Oh well, maybe I will come upon the one thing people will like to buy. Have a great weekend and hopefully we get our computer back Monday.

I made some fun headband accesories and I want to know what you think. I saw something like this on a blog but I can't seem to find it to give them credit, I'm sorry. These are made from scraps of fabric, sewn onto felt. I add two alligator clips to clip onto any headband also I added a vintage earring to the top to finish it off. I think they're cute and we even clipped it onto a necklace. They are in my etsy shop too. Tell me what you think of them. Thanx.

Coffee Filter Flowers

I'm going to try to do a tutorial on how I made the cupcake liner flowers for my wreath but I'm going to do it with coffee filters. First are your supplies...Coffee filters, about 19 gauge wire,and needle nose pliers.

Next I took about 12 filters and keeping them together turn them inside out.

Then I poked my finger in the middle and gathered them together, like this...

Then I wrapped a piece of wire, about 8 or 10 inches long, around the bottom... using the pliers to twist and tighten it. Then very carefully I separate each layer. It might tear on you like mine did and since it was a big tear I tore part of it off but left the rest and you really couldn't tell.

This is the tear.Then I pushed it all up and then kind of fluffed it out. You can use the brown one's, (I LOVE the look of those) or you can mix some paint in water, put it in a squirt bottle and spray it after or before you put it together, for different colors. The cupcake liners I used 6 and they were a little tougher to work with, because the were waxy and thicker. Just be patient and they'll come together. There fun to do once you get the hang of it.

Fires and Testimonies

This came to me one day and I had to share.

I was taught the basic gospel of Jesus Christ when I was a child. Like the embers left in a fire, my flame of the gospel went dim until the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints came into my life and added logs from the Gospel of Jesus Christ until I had a full roaring testimony of this Gospel. Over the years my flames have dwindled to embers until I turn to my Heavenly Father and again the logs are added to bring back the flames of this beautiful and warm Gospel to keep away the darkness and the wolves that hover on the outskirts of the Light of Jesus Christ. Keep your fire burning bright to keep satan at bay and the fire keeps you warm. I KNOW this Gospel IS the Gospel that Jesus Christ taught of in His day and I LOVE my Heavenly Father and am grateful for His love and guidence.

Cupcake Liner Wreath

Ok, so I joined the many who have been inspired by ......I can't remember who did the cupcake liner heart wreath. I am so sorry and when I find you I will post it. Anyway, I looked everywhere for a heart shaped wreath but kept hitting that brick wall. SO, I made my own. I bought a rectangled foam block and made my own heart shape. I was going to cut out the middle but the paper version looked stupid so I made it solid.

I learned how to make flowers from coffee filters, online, so that was the method I used here.

I had bought 6 packages of valentine cupcake liners at WalMart but learned I should have bought 7. I had a bag full of these flowers and got everything ready to glue. I realized I had to glue fabric onto the foam so the hot glue wouldn't melt the foam. AAAGGGHHH!!!

I also rigged a wire hanger that works really well.

Then came the fun part...GLUEING!!!
It takes A LOT of glue sticks, and the drips were all over. Anyway I was almost done when I ran out of flowers. THREE SHORT! NNNNNNNNOOOOOOO!!!!!. I got so mad and it was late so that I wasn't up to going to Wal Mart to try to find just ONE more package, I forgot to take pictures of another monkey rigged job. I found in my stash, an empty ribbon spool, a white and a red silk flower, so I glued the spool down the lift the flower up a little. Then I added the flowers. It still didn't look right so I scrounged and found some white tulle, then I made a bow and glued it under the petals. I added a pearl bead to the flower center and tada!!! I really LOVE it but couldn't put it on my front door to show my neighbors my skills. IT'S TOO FAT!!! So I have it hanging on the inside of my front door.

Not too bad for a dingbat that didn't make a plan first. I usually jump in and spend my time redoing till I get it right. Oh well. Such is my life.

These three flower brooch/hair clip have a hair clip as well as a pin back, on the back, so you can wear them either way. I will post better pics tomorrow but for now here are the three. They have a vintage earring in the center and have 4 layers of different fabric. I have so much fun wearing these.

Where Have I Been?

I have been having problems with my computer and so I have been missing in action for awhile. I still don't have my computer back but I will post a recipe that I'm famous for. Sorry I don't have a photo but it is SOOOO GOOOOOD!!!!
Kelli's Chocolate Lush

Ingredients:
1 pkg cream cheese
1 cup powdered sugar
2 small pkgs INSTANT cholcolate pudding
4 cups milk
1 box Brownie mix
1 lg container cool Whip

Mix up brownies according to the pkg, bake and cool. Mix up pudding and milk till thick and set aside. Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and a fourth of the Cool Whip, till creamy, set aside. To assemble,you will be layering, cut up brownies into small squares,put part of the brownies on the bottom of a clear large bowl, then layer some of the cream cheese mixture on the brownies, then some of the pudding, then the rest of the brownies, cream cheese and pudding. Then cover the pudding with the rest of the Cool Whip. I also like to drizzle chocolate ice cream topping into a pretty design on top. Fridge for at least an hour before serving. Enjoy.

I'm sorry I haven't posted in awhile, our internet was down for a bit. I've been busy making flower pins and hair clips to sell. I did quite nicely at a local open house and now I need to get busy and make more to put on etsy. I love putting them together but hate cutting them out. I found some fabulous womens jackets at a thrift store to cut up and use, I just need to get more money to buy more vintage earrings to use in the center. I sold some of my most favorite ones to ladies at the open house and they looked so cute on their jackets and one put it on her scarf. SO CUTE!!! I wish I would have thought to take a camera. Oh well. Here is a bow holder I designed, made and put some of my flowers on. Now to get it on etsy.

I was doodling last night and pulled out a catalog I got from Panduro Hobby out of England. Love their stuff but especially the Tomte characters. I saw their little monsters (which gave me inspiration) and decided to show you three of mine. I am going to make them into patterns to sell on my etsy, but thought you could copy these ones if you would like. I plan to stitch mine and maybe even make them into jewelry of some sort. I'm sitting here going thru the blogs I follow and then follow some of their blogs they follow(wow, does that make sense),and came across this blog http://whiteseason.blogspot.com and even tho I don't know what is being said I felt so peaceful just looking at the pictures posted and enjoying each artistically created picture. I also smile at the darling kittens that pop in and out of some of the pictures. I'd like to thank those lovelies for sharing uplifting, or calming, or smilable bloggers out there for making my day. I enjoy this life and I've finally learned to slow down and just enjoy the little things. Thank you dear Heavenly Father for these things. May God bless you all. Are we ever too old?

My youngest and his wife spent Friday night with us and they have upped the saying "let's sleep in a tent in the living room". I was even wanting to "camp" out with them, Matt had made it look so cozy with so many blankets on the floor before they put in the sleeping bags. They had actually planned to camp out in our back yard but I told them to try the tent in the livingroom because we have so many pincher bugs. The boy cracks me up.

Ok, so here is my darling granddaughter Addy, She's 14 months old, who amazingly sat still long enough for me to do this, (her mom hates me now), to her yesterday, and I was so thrilled with it. She's such a doll anyway and this was just so cute on her.

Then today I was convinced my oldest child Kerstin, who is 26 by the way, to let me play with her hair, and here is how it turned out. She holds still better and longer than Addy and REALLY holds still for pictures, but not Addy!

Old door and old window

I was over at the creativecrate.blogspot.com and she was talking about a blog called http://haileysteadman.blogspot.com where Hailey purposed an old window so I thought I would share what I did with an old door and window.The window had one of the panes broken out so I added a mirror and in the other part I used an old Mary Engelbreit paper doll calender and created a little vinette , added hooks and screwed it onto the wall. I did my whole bathroom with Mary Engelbreit pictures and paper dolls. The top of the wall I painted a soft butter yellow, the bottom I painted on the beadboard a sage green and the trim black with white polka dots. LOVE IT!!! In the mirror you can see a paper doll collage I made from all the paper dolls from her magazine.

Here is my old door I made into a coat rack. I put 4 hooks on top and 3 hooks in the middle and screwed the door to the wall. You could put some hooks lower for little ones to reach. I didn't even paint the door, it has the chippy white paint it came with. I LOVE IT!!!!

This is SO TRUE. I find myself looking back and saying, "if only I would have..." and I used to, but not so much now, say I can't wait till..." when I need to look at the now and cherish every second of it! I blinked and my babies are grown and I'm a grandma now. As I watch Addy with her grampa I see him all over again with our daughter Kersti and miss those times so much but I am savoring every second with Addy because I know this will pass too quickly. I also find I laugh at Addy's parents when she's naughty and they are frustrated or exassperated with her, because now it's payback. Our families are too precious!!! Go and hug them now, stop reading this, GO! Give them a hug for me too!

Dude, Obama, yo, Check it.... I say you need to STOP bailing companies out, they keep screwing up! GIVE THE MONEY TO THE PEOPLE, we would be paying off loans, mortgages, buy new cars and houses, FOOD and then we would shop for fun. Economy taken care of because the money would be circulating.
And those who keep putting Bush down, I say whoohoo for him because he kicked butt when we got attacked on 9-11. When there was a bomb set off during Clintons rein what did he do, he did Monica!!! I didn't vote for Obama but I will give him a fair shake as long as he does things right by us.
Ladies at THE VIEW, listen to Elizabeth more and GET RID OF JOY, SHE'S MORE ANNOYING THAN A BEE IN YOUR PANTS!!!! Even Barbara is getting a bit too snooty.

Ok. I think people never really lose the kindergarten mentality, especially when we get our drivers licenses. First of all when we put our blinkers on to change lanes it's does not say to others, "OOO, speed up so I'm still first in line", or when someone wants to change lanes they think, "OOO, I have to get in front of them because I deserve to be first in line", even tho there is NOBODY behind the other car. (also notice I never have this mentality). There is also the "I AM THE ONLY DRIVER ON THIS PLANET!" as they zoom to a parking spot in front of the store without looking around to see if they are going to hit someone or if someone has their blinker light on and have been waiting for this spot. Then there's the cell phone issues. Come on people, wake up. Drive right! Don't you know I am THE only person who drives perfectly!!!LOL!!!

I have to apologize to anyone I may offend but I have been a bit frustrated with the goings on in the news! First of all this big to do about the Professor who was arrested and said it was racial profiling. The police were called by a neighbor saying someone was breaking into a house. The Professor should thank the neighbor for being so attentive to what was going on in the neighborhood, and also he should get to know his neighbors so they know that it is his house. If people got to know their neighbors better and helped each other, these kinds of problems wouldn't happen. Did anyone see the other cops in the photo. One was white and another was BLACK. So if the white cop was wrong wouldn't the black cop have spoken up? I'm even shocked that the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES got involved. Is it only because he is black? I try to be fair and unbiased especially in racial dealings but this one was "STUPID".
I was all for other races being included in the Miss America Pageant. So why is there a Latino pageant and a African American pageant and nobody complains about how that's not fair. What about the couple from Chicago who say the blacks should go out of their way to shop at black owned businesses so that black kids can see that they can get out of the slums and succeed in business. First, I want to know what kind of neighborhood do they live in, and if they want the youth living in the slums to have a better life then why not have your family live in the middle of the slums and teach the people to take pride in their community by taking care of the homes and yards or apartments and areas around them. Why not teach the parents to live a better way and set better examples to their kids. Why not help the parents get a better education so they can have a better life. Stop blaming race when it's easy for you to use. I hate bigotry but I also hate lame excuses. Look at all the ethnic people out there who have bettered themselves with their own hard work. God doesn't love certain colors and neither should we. And He also wants us to be the best people we can be by working on it ourselves, not by free hand up's. Having a beer with Obama. Please! Yeah that helps. Alcohol solves everything.
And while I'm complaining, I've had it with the gay issues. Especially the gay guys that got busted on Temple Square in Salt Lake City. They were on Church owned property and were asked to leave, and resisted the security guards. Then they think a kiss-in is going to prove anything. How ridiculous! The gays also want the Mormon church to change their stand on gay issues that go back to the Bible and the churches foundation on this issue. The day the Mormon Church changes it's standards is the day God wipes out the earth!! Get over yourself. But it's only my opinion!

I am always so behind the times. I saw, somewhere, a craft blog wanting to see peoples craft rooms. I was interested to see if I was the only messy crafter or not. My theory is all crafters have a messy craft room because they are always creating. Then I start looking around at others who have posted and I guess I am the only slob or they are LYING. So here is my reality and my mess. I'm in the middle of making my flower hair clips. So to those with clean craft rooms I say WHATEVER!
